Modifications/History Paul purchased his car 47 years ago in 1964 as a project car which was in the process of having a Grey Holden motor installed. Paul completed the job using a Cortina GT gearbox and a FC Holden differential. Wheels are from a TR6, and the front brakes are from an MGA 1600. The engine is fitted with an extractor exhaust system and twin Strombergs on a Monaro Motors inlet manifold. The seats are from a TF, and the speedo & tacho from a TR3. The twin 6 volt batteries and fuel pump are mounted behind the seats a la MGA. The body has been steel braced and the front bumper is a customised job. A front MGB anti roll bar has been fitted in an unusual position through the two front chassis extensions. All told this is a very well modified car which sounds mangnificent. Paul used the car extensively in his business and believes he has covered over 300,000 miles. Externally the only feature which indicates that this is no ordinary TD, is the exhaust pipe poking out the wrong side at the back of the car. Paul has competed in a recent Three Peaks Rally and is keen to continue his motor sport interests. |
