Modifications/History Car shipped to Sydney on SS Fernmoor and was received into Nuffield (Aust) inventory on August 9, 1951. Car was originally painted Ivory with Green Trim and sold on August 27, 1951 to M Cunningham, Paran Rd, Morpeth, N.S.W. When purchased, Ray's car was painted Clipper Blue even though the Registration Certificate showed it as being Black. It was fitted with Wolsley engine # XPAW 10096. In 1970 Ray had engine number XPAG TD2 13080 fitted by Andrew Rennies 'MG Workshops' in East Bentleigh. And in 2000 Ray Skewes was responsible for a further engine rebuild. Between 1968-72 Ray used his car as daily transport and recalls one horrendous night limping from Timboon to Geelong in thick fog on three cylinders. Nostalgically Ray claims to have all the papers to prove his 40+ years of ownership and reckons he can identify every spark plug that has ever been purchased since 1968. Car is fitted with a wood grained dash board. Ray loves his car and enjoys using it often. |
