Modifications/History Car shipped to Sydney on SS Oakland and was received into Nuffield (Aust) inventory on June 9, 1950. Car was originally painted Ivory with Red Trim and sold on July 8, 1950 to Ex Sevrvicemans Garage, 68 Carrington Lane, Sydney, N.S.W. Wheeler was an authorised MG Dealer and in the late '50's he converted TD 01020 to a 4 seater by extending the chassis behind the seat. Ian McCallum restored the car in Christchurch and eventually got the car mobile when he relocated to the North Island. Car was sold and went back to the U.K. only to subsequently be repatriated once more to New Zealand where the new owner returned the car to it original two seater configuration. |
